Hey everybody! My name is Annie! I am originally from Winston-Salem, NC. I am a sophomore at UC Berkeley studying Chemistry with a minor in marine science because I love the beach and the ocean! This is my second year as a YSP mentor, and I love Willard Middle School and the people here. I can’t wait to meet you all this year!
Hi there! My name is Michaela and I’m from San Jose. I’m a second year majoring in Political Economy and minoring in Public Policy, and I’m excited to be back with YSP this year! In my free time I enjoy singing, baking cookies, and watching shows like Friends and Suits. My favorite bands are Maroon 5 and One Republic, and I also really like listening to musicals like Les Mis.
Hi! My name is Michaella and I am currently a 5th-year PhD student (aka 21st grade!). I study ecohydrology -- which means that I spend a lot of time tromping thorugh streams and forests to collect data. I have been a volunteer at Willard Middle School through most of my graduate school years. This is my 3rd semester with YSP and I have very much enjoyed being a math teacher in Credit Recovery, but am excited to serve as the Teaching Program Assistant this spring!
Yooooo its Kimberly or you can call me Kim, Kimmy, Kimbo… basically, I go by a lot of nicknames. I recently joined YSP last semester, but I am happy to start this semester as a leader too. I have been involved in water polo, band, and speech during high school. I also took a taekwondo class last semester - I’m still a white belt so you better watch out ;)
(I’m kidding) I am a first year, intended Molecular Cell Biology major, I still don't know what I want to do with my life, but I recently joined the Biology Scholars Program and I hope they can help me figure it out.
Hello everyone! My name is Brenda. I am currently a super senior/5th year, majoring in Mathematics with a Teaching Concentration and minoring in Cal Teach. This is my 9th semester with YSP. I started as a mentor and then moved on to becoming a Team Leader, then Bonner Leader, then Program Assistant. I enjoy working with youth and have been since my sophomore year of high school; I actually want to become a high school math teacher. I enjoy doing many types of community service, from tutoring to feeding the homeless. I am excited to be a part of the YSPham again and excited to work with you all this year!
